Hi, I’m Jack D’Angelo, the solo developer behind project atlas. I’m a Computer Science graduate from Georgetown University with a minor in Mathematics. I am a history buff, game developer, writer, and aspiring cybersecurity professional.
Inspired by GeoGuessr and Wordle, I wanted to create a game that was more focused on education and was completely FREE. project atlas combines the daily challenge format of Wordle with the geographic exploration of GeoGuessr, but with an emphasis on learning about fascinating historical and cultural locations. Each game links to Wikipedia, encouraging players to explore and expand their knowledge.
For those who have noticed, project atlas currently doesn’t support mobile browsers. That’s because I’m actively working on a mobile app built in Flutter for iOS and Android.
Just give me time—I’m one guy! 😅
Special thanks to OpenStreetMap (OSM) for providing the map tiles that make this project possible. Also, a huge shoutout to the open-source community for creating the tools that power project atlas!
I built this game out of my love for history and geography. If you’re enjoying it, consider sharing it with friends! 🚀
